The strange thing about easter is that for many years it was seen as a time for remembering, and for thinking back on what happened that easter around 36.ad. And praising Jesus for taking on the sins of humanity and sacrifising himself for everyone else.
these days its in large parts of the world that celebrates easter being percieved to be just another week of vacation from work and school.

other things that I got a bit confused about is that here easter vacation is a time to go to the mountans for the weekend to go skiing, or go to warmer regions of the planet for a few days vacation. In other countries it is a time to remember and praise the sacrifice of Jesus getting crusified. and other places like the Philipines, people crusify themselves to feel the pain fo getting nailed to a cross, in the beliefe that doing that they get closer to God and to Jesus.
to me, getting themselves nailed to a cross seems more like madness than anything else.

It seems like the original message of easter has been largly forgotten or ignored over the centuries. For instance: The decorations that are used for easters are chickens and eggs. In the states they got the easterbunny and his eggs. (As far as I know, rabbits do not lay eggs..) I have no idea what so ever where that tradition came from.
Here in europe the traditions are to decorate the house with yellow chickens and colored eggs. I have never figured out the origins or point of that tradition either.

One other thing is that for some countries that celebrate easter, the 2nd day of easter is a regular working day, and for other countries, its one more holiday.
Today I talked to Isabel that is in Mexico. there the 2nd day of easter is a work day. and here in Norway the 2nd day of easter is a holliday.

crazy builds.

These days the TG LAN party is going on at Vikingskipet in Hamar. I wouldnt mind being there, could be interesting to see all the strange case-mods and home built computer cases there. The competition for having the coolest computer case is one of the biggest contests there.
some of the case mods from last year where quite interesting. Some where really cool, some where funny, some where completelly crazy, and some where seriously pathetic.
i think they will follow up the tradition of putting the pictures from the contest on the TG website or the hardware.no TG site.

strange weather

Now I’m sitting at the office at kvarteret, having my weekly office duties.
when I left home to go to school yesterday morning, it was sunny and not a cloud on the sky, the same was for when I got home last night around 8.pm. when I went to the local pub to play some biliards and have a beer after a long day, it was sodding snowing.. what the f… is that all about?
this morning when I left home, it was sunny at home, when I got to the city (about 8 kilometers from home). it was raining.. and now a few hours later, its clearing up. Still cloudy, but it doesnt look like its gonna rain at least.. but ofcause, I live in bergen. when I go home I bet its gonna rain since I didnt bring my umbrella when I left home this morning.

today I hope the biliards tournament that has been going on at the club is gonna be over so people can play biliards again.. it was supposed to be over last night, but when I left they had only gotten about half way in the tournament (after 3 days…).

Fire alarms.

I HATE fire alarms. especcially when they go off when you are sleeping.. and allways when there is no reason for them to go off.
like this morning at around 10.am. I was sleeping, which is quite common to do on a sunday morning. and gets woken up by that screaming alarm.. MAN. I was pissed. and the scream from the alarm is so damn annoying and loud that being in the apartement is inviting a earproblem. so I went outside to freese a little. (better than loosing my hearing).
and as usual, the firedepartment had the same answer as usual when people ask why the alarm went off… someone had been making food, and not turned off the plate, so the pan boiled dry, and starts smoking…
after getting back to my flat, I went back to sleep.
when I got up. my day was further fucced up. its raining… and my love for rain is about the same as my love for dentists when they are going drill-crazy in my mouth without anasthetics….

some people are just stupid.

I saw in the newspaper today an article about a guy in sweden that has been attacking and trying to rape young girls the last couple of days.
the article however was funny.
this guy tried to rape a girl that was out walking her dog. When the guy had pulled his pants down and was ready to complete his lame-ass plans, the dog didnt really agree, so it bit him.. in the balls.. if that didnt scare him to run like he had the devil chasing him, I dont know what would.
and I bet the dog got a good prize for saving his young owner.

that guy got to be nominated for “dumbest attacker in the world”.
and the dog should be nominated for “a girls best friend”.

here is a story I recieved on email from my wife.

” Many People will have to endure eternity without God because they chose to live without him here on earth”

Miss Beatrice, the church organist, was in her eighties and had never been married. She was admired for her sweetness and kindness to all.
One afternoon the pastor came to call on her and she showed him into her quaint sitting room. She invited him to have a seat while she prepared tea.

As he sat facing her old Hammond organ, the young minister noticed a cut-glass bowl sitting on top of it.
The bowl was filled with water, and in the water floated, of all things, a condom!
When she returned with tea and scones, they began to chat.

The pastor tried to stifle his curiosity about the bowl of water and its strange floater, but soon it got the better of him and He could no longer resist.
“Miss Beatrice”, he said, “I wonder if you would tell me about this?” pointing to the bowl.

“Oh, yes,” she replied, “Isn’t it wonderful?
I was walking through the Park a few months ago and I found this little package on the ground.
The directions said to place it on the organ, keep it wet and that it would prevent the spread of disease.
Do you know I haven’t had the flu all winter.”

I HATE snow. its cold, its wet, and where I live it has a tendency to be snow, and the next day it rains, so you get alot of wet slush.
I was hoping we where finished with snow for this year, but no. when I looked out the window this morning it was snow. I’m just glad it wasnt snowing when I went to school.

New website.

I now moved my blog from my own webserver to a B-one webhotel, and registered the domain: http://maztermin.com.
I did this because I wanted to keep it at a stable server with daily backups, and a better internet connection.
in the process of moving my stuff to the new place, I had no problems with the blog, my gallery however have been giving me some headache. for some reason it just wont work after being transfered.
I havent tried transferring my wiki yet, but I will give that one a try one of these days.
